The object

The house in Silvio-Meier-Straße (built around 1900) is located in a district that is as lively as it is steeped in history. In the development plan, the street was initially called Straße 63b, then Gabelsbergerstraße from 1901, after Franz Xaver Gabelsberger, and since 2013 it has borne the name Silvio Meier. The Wilhelminian-style property consists of a front building, side wing and rear building, which enclose a green courtyard on three sides. It was renovated in the 1990s. At that time, the property was given a new roof, the central heating system was renewed and the risers were replaced, among other things. A new stainless steel hot water tank with legionella protection was also installed in 2013 and the stairwells were redesigned with sisal carpets and a new color scheme in 2014. As part of the latest refurbishment, the outdoor areas were redesigned, elevators were installed and the top floor was extended, where two spacious penthouses can be created according to individual requirements.

The location

Silvio-Meier-Straße runs from Frankfurter Allee to Rigaer Straße and is located in the so-called Samariterkiez, in the north of Friedrichshain. Many people are often long-established and have lived here all their lives, so that – unlike in southern Friedrichshain – there is a relaxed atmosphere here. Numerous Art Nouveau façades characterize the visual impression of the neighbourhood, as do the Samariterkirche church and Forckenbeckplatz. Residents like to visit the latter to relax or use it as a sports field. In addition to meadows and flowerbeds, the small but beautiful park has a fountain and a football pitch and playground. Countless cafés and restaurants nearby create a relaxed and cozy neighbourhood atmosphere. The Jane-Goodall elementary school, the Heinrich-Hertz-Gymnasium and the Evangelische Schule Berlin-Friedrichshain are within walking distance. The Kreuzberg-Friedrichshain district office and the adult education center around the corner offer central services for all age groups. If you like shopping, you will find stores ranging from drugstores and supermarkets to shoe and toy stores in the nearby Ring Center, which also houses a gym, for example. Silvio-Meier-Straße is just as well connected to public transport. The Samariter Straße subway station on the U5 line is in the immediate vicinity. The Ringbahn and the M10 streetcar line, which connects Warschauer Straße with Nordbahnhof in Prenzlauer Berg, also run nearby.
